TRADITIONALISTS – SJ

These uncommon jewels of the personality spectrum make up less than one percent of the population. This is not surprising considering how few of them there are. This led me to do some research on these unique little snowflake personalities. What I discovered was both fascinating and inspiring. Who knows, you might just be one of them. They are known for being great verbal communicators. To most friends and acquaintances, the INFJ type seems very sociable and extroverted. This can cause confusion when INFJs become overwhelmed and must withdraw from people.

Now I must be autistic and explain the joke. Domestication is used here as an allegory for miscegenation. They end up in cities, together with other cosmopolitans from other tribes, and find that they finally fit in! Blacks, browns, whites, reds and yellows, but everybody in the city speaks flawless English and goes to Broadway plays together. Except…regression to the mean happens.

My INTP female experience is wildly different because I was Fe-trained by an ESFJ mother and an ENFJ sister with a heavy Fe Latin, Catholic culture.

Posted in Psychology by Marissa One of the ways we relate Myers-Briggs type to culture is by saying most Feeling types are women and most Thinking types are men. This seems to work quite nicely as a partial explanation for gender stereotypes in Western culture. In spite of social pushes to break-down gender distinctions, Feeling-type attributes emotionally expressive, nurturing, relational, etc. According to the Center for Applications of Psychological Type , about 57 to 84 percent of women are Feeling types and about 47 to 72 percent of men are Thinking types.

Just in my family of 5, there are three good examples of exceptions to the general rule that most men are Thinkers and most women are Feelers. Both Thinking and Feeling are Judging functions, meaning they describe how you like to make decisions. When Thinkers make a decision, they like to base it on facts and understand the basic principle behind that decision. When Feelers make decisions, their focus is on how that decision will affect other people. They want to maintain harmony and stay in line with their personal and societal values.

In your function stack , Thinking T or Feeling F is going to be your primary or secondary function. That leaves INTP as the opposite type. Barger and Linda K.

She is attracted to weak but intelligent men that can submit to her in everyday life. It brings her pleasure to protect them, support them and say something uplifting.

Intuition as a whole is a process that collects and categorizes situations, thoughts and ideas. It’s reflective when we’re alone and silent, and hyperactive when we’re out in the world.

SP Experiencer to NF Idealist Generally the Experiencers’ excitement and sensuousness dovetail nicely with the enthusiasm and the romanticism of the NF Idealists , and they can be intrigued by the NFs spirituality and sense of personal ethics, so different from their own hedonism. However, chances are that Experiencers will grow puzzled by, and slightly cynical about, the Idealist’s moral delicacy, by their need for personal enlightenment, as well as by what Experiencers sometimes call the NFs’ “airy fairy” soulfulness and flights of fancy.

SP Experiencer to NT Conceptualist Experiencers can feel right at home with the Conceptualist’s natural pragmatism, irreverence, and love of tools, while they can be impressed by the NTs’ theoretical interests, so different from their own practical, tactical grasp of things. On the other hand, it sometimes happens that Experiencers grow impatient wiht a Conceptualists desire for extensive knowledge.

And they can feel resentful and annoyed of the NT’s calm, detached life of the mind, as if their own SP gift of physical pleasure is somehow inferior when viewed from the NT’s abstract heights. Two SPs live primarily in the same world, the world of external, physical reality, speaking the same language of concrete objects, and they also share each other’s childlike love of fun and excitement. Two SPs have so many interests and activities in common-travel, sports, parties, shows, clothes, and so on-that they can come together as playmates in a way not possible with persons of other temperament.

The only problem is, and it is a major one, that with both partners living and playing so hard-going so fast in the same direction-they can quickly exhaust each other and lose interest. This pattern of two Experiencers lighting up the sky brightly and then burning out and falling apart is a familiar one. This is for two reasons.

As soon as I was able to use it to explain my weirdness, I wanted the rest of my family to type themselves, including my husband. They tend to see life as one great competition—there is much to do and much to be conquered—and romance is no different. Because of the ENTJs decisive, commanding personality, they usually find themselves in some sort of position of authority. May 9, by philipbullitthughes Out of all the personality types, INTJs have the most difficulty in the area of mating. Not because there is something wrong with them, per se, but because they regard the selection as a rational process, a matter of finding someone who meets their physical and intellectual requirements. They desire a mate of the mind: The INTJ will figure out very quickly, usually by the first or second date, whether or not a relationship has a future.

If not the INTJ will not waste time toying with courtships of little promise; they are done and they will not look back. Masterminds rely on their heads rather than their hearts when dating, and thus are often accused of being cold and calculating when breaking things off. However, contrary to popular belief, INTJs are deeply emotional, even romantic types. They are extremely difficult to read as they tend to not be emotionally expressive, distrusting emotions as illogical whims that seek to subdue them.

Thus, the INTJ might feel waves of deep feelings over a break-up, yet seem distant and frigid where they used to be close and warm. The INTJ values their privacy above all else, and while they might have shared in the past with a person of trust, once that bond is broken, the person is no longer a confidant, walled off from their inner world. Another unfortunate problem for the INTJ is their infinite patience when it comes to dating. They are meticulous, developing intimacy rather slowly.
